End-of-Line Deflagration Flame Arresters

END-OF-LINE CIRCULAR PLATE FLAME ARRESTERProtectoseal Series No. 670E End-of-Line Deflagration Flame Arresters are installed where it is not necessary to conserve vapors but where low flash point liquids must be protected against fire and explosion from exterior sources of ignition. These flame arresters are mounted on the end of a vent pipe from the tank. Vapors are allowed to escape into the atmosphere and air can be drawn into the tank through the specially designed flame arrester grid assembly. If an ignition source outside the tank (unconfined deflagration) is encountered, the flame arrester provides protection for the tank’s vapor space. Arresters are not for use in stabilized burning situations.

End-of-Line Pressure / Vacuum Vents w/ Flame Arresters

Protectoseal Series No. 830, Pressure / Vacuum Conservation Vent with Flame Arrester, is designed to prevent costly evaporation losses, tank rupture due to over-pressure, and collapse due to vacuum. The flame arrester protects tank against fire and explosion caused by exterior sources of ignition. Pallets in the vent housing minimize air and vapor loss as the tank “breathes”. They open and close just enough to maintain safe working pressures and avoid damage to the tank. The flame arrester is mounted externally and is only exposed to vapors when venting.

In-Line Bi-Directional, Deflagration Flame Arresters

The Protectoseal Series Nos. 45000E & 46000E In-Line Deflagration Flame Arresters are designed to withstand low, medium and high pressure deflagrations (subsonic). These arresters are bi-directional and capable of stopping a flame approaching from either direction in a piping system and can be mounted vertically or horizontally in the pipeline. Suitable for varying distances from the unprotected side of the vent pipe, maximum distance (Lu/D=50), and within determined operating pressure, consult factory for specifics.
